The Center for a Secure Free Society (SFS) is an independent, non-partisan, non-profit global research that mobilizes a global network of security and defense experts to advance public policy. The organization was founded by Alejandro Chafuen, former president of Atlas Economic Research Foundation and native of Argentina.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.securefreesociety.org/about-sfs/ )〕 ==History== Following Chafuen's experience with the socialist terrorism in Argentina during the late 1970s and the September 11 attacks, he concluded that governments cannot hold all of the research of security and defense issues, and that independent efforts are needed. In 2004, a sub organization of the Atlas Economic Research Foundation was founded, called the Think Tanks for a Secure Free Society, which held programs in Lisbon, Prague, New York, Dallas, Buenos Aires, Bogota, Santiago and multiple other cities around the world. In 2011, the organization was renamed the Center for a Secure Free Society and moved to the International Freedom Educational Foundation. In 2012, the organization became independent.〔
